Step 1 : Creating an account in GOOGLE
For accessing or creating documents in Google drive, first you need to have a Google account. It’s simple and easy to create account in Google. Sign-up for a free account by clicking here.![]() | |

Step 2: Login into the new account or existing account
After using your GMail (Google mail) login you will be directed to Google drive. From here you can download “Google Drive for PC” if you want to have a offline version of the document you are working in the cloud. This part will be covered in a different tutorial. We will concentrate only in “Google Document” for this tutorial, so click on “Create” then choose “Document” from the drop-down list.

Step 3: Changing Document Name
When you are creating a new document by default document name will be coming up as “Untitled Document” in the top left section in your document.![]() |

At first, it is a little confusing for new user/s; how to change the name of that document. As, we are used to save documents by clicking on save in “Microsoft Word” then typed the name in. In Google Document user do not need to save documents, as Google save the document automatically. For changing document name, you need to click on “Untitled Document” then typed the name in.

Step 4: Understanding Icons in Google Document
Below list will give you an idea about most common icons used in shortcut menu bar. Google Document does not have ribbons like Microsoft Word but still you can do basic functions.You Might find Useful -
